Full support for iPhone & iPod Touch. Compatible but not optimized for the iPad. Gem Guide iOS app is the reference section of iGemology. It was designed to supplement "Gems Carat" users for their gem reference access. Gem Guide also can be used as a stand alone application for users who do not require gem weight estimating feature found in "Gems Carat" or "iGemology". Gem Guide provides an efficient gem cross referencing tool for all Gem Trade Professionals and Enthusiasts . As a Graduate Gemologist (GIA), I am eager to share this source of knowledge, which I have designed and programmed. Gem Guide is not yet a substitute for a desktop application, due to inherent & present limitations of any mobile devices resources, i.e. Memory and Screen Size. As a full featured Gem Reference app with spectrum data analysis (Light Absorption Properties), Gem Guide assist trade professionals, jewelers & gemologist in gem evaluation & identification. It is also a reliable source of knowledge for sales staff, gemological students or any gem buff. Gem Guide also provides quick reference on size to weight co-relation of calibrated Diamonds and Colored Stones, both in melees, full sizes and baguettes cuts. Common in iGemology suite of applications are direct access to Diamond Grading Lab Report and Fine Metal Market for Diamond Report verifications. Gem Guide also conveniently provides access to Jewelry Crime Related Reports with direct reporting a crime capability to Jewelers Security Alliance (JSA).
